Ghosts of Past.

Ghosts of Past.

Haunt the halls with shattered dreams,
Pierce the silence with my screams.
Ever waking, ever dying,
Drown in rivers that I'm crying.

Mourners chant in monotone
How could you leave me all alone?
Can someone tell me who to blame?
Life will never be the same.

Life is hard, and then you die.
Without you here, I don't know why,
I'm forced to carry on alone.
Things are harder with you gone.

The easy out is never right,
But still it keeps me up at night.
Cause all the future that I see,
Is cloaked in pain and misery.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
