    Grandfather's Clock

    GrandFather's clock
    strikes in simple
    complexity

    Two pieces
    not one
    chime the rhythm of time

    tick
    tock
    tick
    tock

    seconds go by
    seemingly rising
    and setting with the sun
and the ease of a passing day

does time end as the sun fades

    tick
    tock
    tick
    tock

    the clock chimes
    the hour past dusk

    when time is
    reality-infinite
    a crystalline galaxy
    seen
    and unseen
    beyond the eye's "scope"

    tick
    tock
    tick
    tock

    seconds go by
    spent intently

    planting seeds
    in the soil of time

    add sunshine and rain
    and the seeds grow

    tick
    tock
    tick
    tock

    the clock chimes
    the hour of wisdom

    petal by petal
    time's beauty unfolds...

    a sublty sweet fragrance
    awakening the senses
    and ravishing beauties
    blooming rainbows of color

    tick
    tock
    tick
    tock

    seconds go by
    shaping our being
    like water
    meandering down

    tick
    tock
    tick
    tock

    the clock chimes
    the hour of transformation

    a new river
    just started to flow
    carving life's bank in side-sweeping "S's"
    and lakes that oxbow

    tributaries flow
    and the river grows

    swiftly sweeping away sediment

    through sunlit waters
    we see life within
    color
    clarity revealed
    depths below

    continuity
    change
    all become One--
there's a rhythm to it all...

    tick
    tock
    tick
    tock

    seconds go by

    the clock chimes
    the hour of cherished time

    like snowflakes from heaven
    sparkling in sunlight
    shapes and sizes reveal
    crystal-like complexity
    of lace and needle-points

    "how beautiful--
    how fleeting you are
    little crystal"
    lets make angels
    before the spring thaw...

    tick
    tock
    tick
    tock

    GrandFather's clock
    strikes in simple complexity

    two pieces
    not one
    chime
    the rhythm of time....

    TIME IS PRECIOUS ISN'T IT

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
