Gratefl Billy

Billy yelled for pain hoping that someone would have heard him
but everyone who looked his way just turned around and despised him
No one wanted to know why he was where he was at,
they just stared at his dirty clothes, his tousled hair and that was their fact

The streets comforted him at nights and sheltered him from the cold
From he was a little boy that was all he had, and now he had grown old
At forty-three he wished for a better life and for just a morsel of bread
but most of all he wished for a family and a bed to lay his head

With Further thought and three more years he closed his eyes and came to understand
That God had blessed him with so much things and for that he was very glad
He had clothes, food, life and a place to crash
from dust 'til dawn
but most of all he had something to eat each day because God provided someone else's trash.

Girl, this poem has truely been an inspiration and it has taught me to be more grateful for the finer things in life, because when we think that we are the worse then there is always someone worst than us!! Keep doing the best that you can because only your best is good enough!!

Being homeless sucks no matter where you are! God is here but you wonder sometimes why you're always living in fear of where your going to go, where to take a shower, who's really in power, and how your going to get there. It's every second of wondering what's going to happen next. No more day to day thinking things will be O.k., It gets worse and your living the worlds worst curse! Well written...

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
