    Greg

I drove by an old friend’s house
    Haven’t talked in years
    “For Sale”
    Even the unchangeable changes
    One by one
    All the cords are cut
    Difficult to comprehend
Greg has been in the same house forever
    Since he was a kid
    Never thought he’d move
    Was his mom’s house
    Before she remarried
    Moved to West Virginia
Gave the house to greg and his sister
Skateboarding in the empty pool after school
High school potheads laughing at the Three Stooges
    Channel 13, 3:30 every day
    The crew hanging out
    Fry Town Locals
    Over the light
    Off the coping
    Long blond hair
    Fit and tan
    Indestructible

    “For Sale”
    4 bedrooms and a pool
    Contact Sherri or Greg
    No one home

    Across the street
    Knock on Windflower’s door
    No one home
    “Windflower” (Dorothy)
    Organic holistic public broadcasting
    Former future mother-in-law
    Surfin’ bro’s totally cool mom
    No one home
“no smoking” posted on the front door
    VW squareback in the driveway
    She still lives here
    Some things never change

Eolian man! Memory walks can be really surreal! Liked this. Thanks.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
