Halloween: a child's imagination

Halloween: a childs imagination

The air was cold and the moon was bright,
It lit up the sky and became my light.
My Pumpkin was heavy, filled with treats,
where a black handle and orange plastic meets.
My ghostly costume was tripping my feet,
the holes for my eyes were making it hard to see.
But something was weird, something was wrong, something
was following me.
Oh No! what could it be? was it a witch? was it a ghost?
oh goblins are what i hate most.
There's no time to think so I'll run as fast as i can.
so i ran with all my might still clutching my candy with my little girl hand.
I heard a noise, it was getting close. i have to run faster.
but my costume trips my toes.
I fall down flat on my face,it hurts. my candy scatters all over the place.
Oh No! this is it.
i closed my eyes tight, my light no longer lit.
waiting for the arrival of death, i covered my head and sucked in my last breath.
but nothing happened.
nothing seemed to occur.
nothing was in my sight.
not even a stir.
I laughed at myself for being a fool.
It wasn't a goblin , a witch or a ghoul.
I cant believe i was so naive, I'm already ten. it would have been fine if it was back then.
so i picked up my candy and walked up the street,
holding my pumpkin where a black handle and orange plastic meet.
