love letter

Love letter

Our separate eyes cannot meet,
our love, our soul,
lie still, suffocated by defeat.
This house is drowned is sorrow,
the streets which we held hands ,
has no hope, no light for tomorrow.
Black is what we call it now,
our hands are covered in blisters and soot.
we run from the sickness but blood covers every foot.
My body aches for you, your beauty hurts my heart, your eyes,
oh black eyes,
swallow me in your dark.
The fire , your candle has left its mark.
Gray smoke lingers around your head circling
your perfectly structured face.
my mind holds on to that moment,
lingers in that place.
I hear a violin, dim candle light,
i see a small silhouette.
i turned to you , you turned to me ,
our eyes first met.
But now were trapped to write our love,
trapped to write our despair.
I'm strapped down to my bed, tangled in my sheets,
my sweat soaked hair.
I've grown fond to love you,
you live in my heart.
I'm flying now.
this is my depart.

The poem is interesting and romantic. I like the flow.......and the last line is very strong!

Thankyou its one of my favorites

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
