Her Majesty, Lake Superior

    Her Majesty, Lake Superior

    In the sand facing her,
    Feeling the waves all-knowing hello.
    Waiting, watching,
Yearning for you, wanting you, missing you.

    Breaths do not come easily
    As the grasp of heartache
    Pull them away.
    My bleeding heart pours
    Onto the sands.
    And my tears embrace
    Superiors cry.
    The empty shadows
    lurk within my soul
And I ache for your touch.
    The vast horizon
    Enhances lonely visions
And I feel you with me.
    The gulls free flight
    Cannot lift this force from
my chest that pounds its beats
    into my ears.
    Her superior waters cannot
    soothe the pain this time.
    Only your love, here now
    Would heal this broken heart.
