    Inside My Heart and Soul

Deep in the midst of my soul and in my heart, I feel an emptiness. A complete and utter sense of being lost. A tingling sensation surrounds my outer self; as I am the lone planet in a universe of stars set in blackness.
Even deeper, beyond the empty hole, I am alone- alone to face this cruel world. The aching inside my soul only shows itself in a complete relaxing meditation, when all else is forgotten. Except the time:
After you walked out on me
    I went around this room.
    My head was spinning,
I took down all the pictures,
    Snatched up your clothes,
    Grabbed the bottle
    We habitually share
    And then another.
    Anger suddenly overwhelmed me.
    I tripped over your shoe,
Then threw it at the mirror
    Which had reflected my
    Shattered thoughts into
    Tiny pieces.
    The bottle was within reach
    So, I had another.
I walked out into the street
    Rain beat my face-
    Much gentler than your fist.
My tears united with the rain
The road, as I beat at it screaming
Rose up to hit my head.
The one who carried me inside
    I did not know.
    My heart ached with
    A hurt so deep,
    Never to be healed.
Nonetheless, I am strong and can temporarily hide my sorrows deep within my soul. My sorrows are hidden for me to smile on the outside. Yet, on the inside, the constant swirling, dizziness of my lost soul, cries.

I could visualize this as I read it. I could see the room and feel the heartache because this story/poem is well written and expressive. I hope you can solve your inner turmoil.

"Then threw it at the mirror Which had reflected my Shattered thoughts into Tiny pieces"...I love this line....this poem is sooo expressive and relateable to man and what we suffer during a deep hurt and loss..you have expressed yourself in a deep emotional way here that grabs the reader and brings one to a place where he can relate to you...great job

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
