    How not war

Give them not bomb and bullet
for they shall only learn how to war
blood for blood, blow for blow
slap for slap tears for tears

    Fire kindles fire
its ashes are pains and poverty
    husbandless wives, fatherless toddlers
    homing on crude camps
    tenanting in terrible tents
    and punished by the elements

No, give them no friendly words
    encouragement breeds bravery
what use is bravery to the vanquished
    and esence to the slaughtered
