    I Cant Remember

She took his Heart out for a ride

    As did his horse

    Like with his horse

He had no control over her

They have to meet in the middle

    He shares a dance

    He shares time

    With her

    As he shares the trails

    And his time

    With his horse

His heart taking risk with hers

    His body with his horse

    He’s a Cowboy no doubt

    Frustrated with empty answers

    He rides

The last image in his head was her face

    Before he hit the ground

Close to death for all she knew

He awoke without a single memory

    Friends and hospital staff came

    But all he could remember

    The very next day

Was her face at his bed side

Her reasons may never be known or clear to him

As it may never be known to her

How much she truly means to him

    She’s as dangerous

    To his Heart

    As his Horse

    Is to him

    But He’s a Cowboy not a quitter

He’ll be back for her Heart

As much as he’ll be back in the saddle

Her Love is worth fighting for

He’ll take good care of his Horse

    As he will her Heart

    No matter how many times

    He gets hurt

He fights for what he wants

And that’s just what she is

What more could she ask for in a man

Telling the story of a friend, to relay a message on his behalf, to the one he awoke to.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
