I dream of Kayla

I dream of Kayla

In my dream you get an ocean view.

Dolphins flipping over a big blue moon.

Sour patch kids are always nice.

Cats in the fields play with mice.

A flower shaped like you in my room.

A rose is so precious before it blooms.

Your pedals will explode with the light

So I will wait another night.

Every culture with their feet in the sand.

Friends are all walking hand in hand.

Trees reach out their limbs to greet you.

You smile and wave, “How do you do?”

An extra color on the rainbow.

Is a new promise for no more woe.

For an eternity we would sit there on the beach.

No impossibilities, no star we can’t reach.

Very nice poem. I love the flow. Great job.. Hugs.. SG

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
