    I Forgive Myself

I’m sitting here crying reliving my past,
    I don’t know what happened,
    It happened so fast!
One day I’m normal the next day I’m not.
I never thought my life would turn out like this.
I’ve hurt so many people and caused so much pain,
Thinking about all this made the tears pour down like rain.
So I put down the pipe and opened His book,
Swallowed my pride, and had me a look,
    but more than a look.
I opened my ears and I finally heard what
He has been saying to me for years.
“ I died on the cross so that you could live today.
My child I love you more than life itself,
Now it’s time for you to forgive yourself!”
After hearing all this I broke down into tears.
I never thought anything could quiet my fears,
But now that I know I’m a child of GOD,
I’m no longer afraid and I know where my strength is stored.
Now I can put my past on the shelf and
    Finally I can say I forgive myself…

Touching and full of emotion. Good work.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
