I just wanted to thank you

I just wanted to thank you
For giving me tomorrows, not just my today
    For making me realize
The negativity of letting my dreams slip away
I just wanted to thank you
for bringing me smiles, when unhappiness was my home
For being there when I needed you
Simply refusing to let me be alone
I just wanted to thank you
The unlimited knowledge, you instilled when misunderstanding was my air
    For acknowledging my undying potential
for tending to me: in general just being there
I just wanted to thank you
For your inner strengths, when weakness smothered my soul
For releasing the pains of my unjust past
Which was beyond my forgiving control
    For unchaining my heart
When entrappment was my eternal vision
For drying my silent tears away
for coming to me: when I just wanted you to listen
I adore being your jewel in the rough
I welcome all the beautiful things that you do
For giving me womorrows, not just my today
I just wanted to thank you

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
