I knew that someday you'd come. Whenever I watched my father shave. I knew that someday you'd come. Whenever I'd cry, rant or rave.
I knew that someday you'd come. Whenever I'd have to go to school. I knew that someday you'd come. Whenever I learned a new rule.
I knew that someday you'd come. Whenever Father would leave for work. I knew that someday you'd come. Whenever Mother would tend to my hurt.
I knew that someday you'd come. Whenever I saw the birds and bees of spring. But nothing could have prepared me for the joy that you would bring.
