I had a thousand butterflies
Couldn't get you off my mind
You gave me hope and something to believe in
I took a chance
Thinking I could challenge the world and win

I smile to myself
Drowning in thoughts of you
My heart no longer hidden on a shelf
I cant think straight
Theirs only you
I give in and believe in fate

How happiness so quickly fades
The silence
Haunted me for days
In my mind echoed promises
Taunting me
Taring down and rebuilding my defenses

I thought it was an impossible task
To overcome
And bary the past
They say time heals
Even thoughts of you
Again I can feel

My mind now open
Recovered
My heart unbroken
You no longer leave a trace
Life back in my hands
A smile escapes my face

Out of nowhere
There you are
Just reading your name
Brings back the emotions and feeling of the forgotten past
Knowing that once I've already lost this game

I didn't completely get over you
I never forgot the person I once knew
That no one could compare to you
Hoping its different this time
