    Poem Commentary

    I KNOW IT'S HARD FOR MEN TO UNDERSTAND WOMEN.  MANY TIMES YOU DON'T KNOW WHY WE'RE MAD, SAD, DEPRESSED, ANGRY, UNBALANCED AND TO TELL THE TRUTH...WE DON'T KNOW EITHER.  SINCE WE ARE EMOTIONAL...WE OUR EMOTIONAL SIDE TO BE PAMPERED AND RECOGNIZED.  WE JUST WANT TO BE A WOMAN AND NOTHING ELSE.

    IF I WERE A MAN

     IF I WERE A MAN I WOULD TRY TO UNDERSTAND
    NOT WALK AWAY FROM A FIGHT BUT TELL HER THAT I LOVE HER AND CARESS HER WITH MY HAND.  IF I WERE A MAN I WOULD LISTEN...TURN THE T.V. OFF FOR A MINUTE AND LET HER FEELINGS BECOME MY BUSINESS.  IF I WERE A MAN I WOULD NOTICE HER TEARS. SHE WOULDN'T HAVE TO SAY A WORD...MY VOICE WOULD CALM ALL HER FEARS.  IF I WERE A MAN I WOULD HOLD HER TIGHT. KISS HER LIPS, RUN HER BATH WATER, RUB HER DOWN AND LET HER KNOW EVERYTHING WILL BE ALRIGHT.  IF I WERE A MAN, I WOULD MAKE HER MY QUEEN.  SHE WON'T BE A DOOR MAT, A TROPHY WIFE, A SLAVE...SHE WOULD FEEL LIKE ROYALTY.  IF I WERE A MAN I WOULD MAKE HER HEART SING.  I WOULD MAKE HER WINTER DAYS FEEL LIKE SPRING. 

    BUT I'M NOT A MAN...JUST A WOMAN...

    This is the prototype to open conversation between men and women so they can have effective dialogue on how they can relate better. Thanks for sharing........E

    Yes since we as women have had the experience of being a women , we know how we want and should be treated, very needed and emotional expressive poem.

    Laudable intentions, D, but if you were a man, you'd be operating on a whole different frequency, and the things the X chromosome sees in vivid colors are often invisible to the Y. Very good work, though.

    Great Write...you are a Queen, not just saying it, although must admit to being guilty of some of these very same things (except the doormat at least I don't believe)...But whether Man or Woman, King or Queen...respect and love must be constant and inbetween....Thanks for sharing, I feel where you coming from....ONE
