    I'll save him

    the me in him
    the sadness we share
the thoughts we wish would disappear
    far from our minds
    they never do
    and we're not happy
    not like you
and to forget is too remote
we have no time left to devote
    to letting go
    or giving in
he hurts for me and i for him
and if i could i would save his soul
and mend his heart before he's old
oh sweet revenge why him,why me?
did we do something we cant see?
    just two lost souls
    too sad to care
about the things we wish were here
and though this battle we'll never win
he'll still save me and I'll save him!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
