    Impale

Here I am, a fading creature
    Lying here among the leaves
    Shadows grow and lights shatter
Darkness takes me in its arms

A foolish being I once was
    Always fearful of the heart
Till the day the blade was brought
    And closed my lips forever

    Yet there was no blood
    My body unmarked
    No blade was there
But the pain continued to last

Here I am, a fading creature
    Lying here among the leaves
My eyes still open, my heart still beats
But my lips will never speak the secret in me

kinda scarey but one gets the point indeed! good job!

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
