    Open Heart Procedure

    If I took a knife
    And cut my chest
    Would you run in fear
At the sight of my heart?

Or would you take your flaming dagger
    And plunge it in
    While you smile viciously
    As my heart stops beating?

    Perhaps you would take it
    And hold it tenderly
And raise it to your lips
For you to eat of it.

Or will you take your fiery blade
    To open up to me
    And give me your heart
    As I give you mine?

Are you trying to open up to me? lol I'd prefer the pen thank you.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
