IN PRAYER

When all around me seems so dire,
and every vista is a veritable quagmire,
and at times I know not what I desire...
I sink within, finding a light afire.

The glow of wisdom
that is my Creator within me
that seat of freedom
It keeps me afloat even when something sinks within me.

In the light within, all my fears are vanquished
and upon the wings of freedom I am replenished
and the enormity of those demons is diminshed
As I reach out for You, my Lord, me in You and You within me...

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
