In that Quiet

In that Quiet

Here in the quiet free from the riot

Of wild parties politics and war

Of drugged power seeking nations

Truth is heard  over illusions sought

Can my sense of your love be a lie

When all your Holy Word heightens that sense

When creations' light sheds warmth and hope

And stars light up the darkness of the sky?

And when the blue skies conquer storms

And seas and lakes storm to calm

And dawn and dew bring promise anew

And dawn to heaven more than earth conforms.

And when the sun can light the night

But never night can darken light

And waters untouched by man are clear

Where sand and sod sink out of sight

Can then my sense of  your love be a lie

When all that love is set before the eye

Creature and creation Glory! Cry!

And stars light up the darkness of the sky

Thankyou bforibus, I am pleased that you recognise the conflict, it is one in which I suggest that nature itself is so designed to show that good will at the right time bring evil to an end. Then comes the eternal dawn of Joy.

Poetry is what is lost in translation.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
