In the midst of the rain

Beneath the surface lies a woman of many words
shy and unbreakable by the silences unheard
lifelong of trauma crying out to heaven's birds
hidden within the shadows lies a woman of many shades
shade of evil, shade of grace, shade of pure, and she can display shade to all the shades
Nights of dying days of living days of taking and evenings giving working and mending, aiding and capturing role of mother, role of wife, role of death and role of life, chances given and laws broken, heart of steel and still she is hoping for her chance, for her opportunity, for her tomorrow, and joy of beauty, sadness has tripled, truth is unfolding, hurting longer, when is it over, darkness for days health is fading children now starving husband abandoned blues record playing the house is dirty filthy unclean humble in words but the heart is so mean clothes are torn hair is wild bruised on the body and now on the child fire is raging the storm will soon put it all out the choir is praising not one person willing to shout glued to the life, struggle to strife, smuggle to knife, married but no wife, to the man who gave her the name, took her own life in the midst of the rain

The beauty and tragedy of the common woman's experience; No matter who we are, what walk of ilfe, what race or socio-economic background, we, just as females, share so much...so much joy, usually given to us by our babies, and so much misery and despair, usually given to us by the men we so naively give our hearts to. Good write.
