    IN YOUR EYES

when I consider the gifts of nature
I count it a blessing to know you
a day with you is enough
    to tell a weary soul
the truth is plain to see
you are the key, I am the door

    in your eyes
    my darkness turns into light
    my fears into hope
    my worries into delight
if I should be your Romeo,
    would you be my Juliet

many a time you rescue my dying soul
from the ocean of my tears
    capture my weary heart
from sinking in the nauseating mass of neglect
if I should count my blessings
you are a miracle God gave the world

even when fear leaves me with no courage
the spark in your eyes is strength enough
to put a smile in my heart
it makes everything around me grow
and I wish you could see the joy I carry

if I should sing to the world
in your eyes I see a reflection
of who I am and what I will be
where every darkness turns into light
    every fear into tall hopes
and every worry into basketful of delight
