Inside

Seclusion beating at my door, waking my senses
Love, a distant memory slowly fading
Desire and passion like a loyal dog, always following

For a brief moment, there’s a sound
A desire to come in out of the cold, pounding rain
Once inside,
The warmth is too much…
Acclimatized to the cold
The footsteps start fading

Seclusion returns, enjoying the warmth
Desire and passion imprisoning with suffocating strength
Making the night seem kind

Waiting for the pounding…
Pounding force…
Scaring away seclusion
Fulfilling the desire and passion
Embracing…
Touching…
Loving…
Coming and going
Inside

Wow, this is really a powerful poem.."like a loyal dog"...nice work!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
