Just A Number On The Wall

Where does it start, where does it end, In Gods love or in the Devils din. It makes no difference if youve been good or bad, or if youve been happy or sad. But only if a person is whole. The difference is in your heart and sole. Adam and Eve was number one and two, for this is the way they looked to me and you. Just a number on the wall that only God can let hang or fall. When the Lord needs a helping hand, down comes a number at his command. God is not predjudist against young or old, and to us his way seems cold. To understand we can not do, for your just a number to him to. God has the power of life and death, so without understanding we must make the best. Look around at the world today, numbers we use in every way. So tonight when you go to bed and pray, remember your just a number on the wall, tomorrow could be your day.

thank you. i wrote this poem after my dad passed away. i had hugged him and told him goodnight just the night before.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
