    Just Me

    Early of the morning
On the back porch, in the swing
I find my peace and solitude
    While the first bird sings.

There are no other humans here
Just dog and cat and me
    3 husbands and my children
Are where they think they should be.

So all alone I seek the sounds
to feed my poor lost spirit
In the sweetness of a meadow larks' song
I think that I can hear it.

My life's been lived for someone else
    For more than 40 years
To find "just me" leads down a road
that's filled with pain and tears.

    Sitting still and listening
to sounds that fill the wind
    Reminds me where I'm going
and the places I have been.

For all the ones who I have loved
And all who love me back
For those who have misled me
And have thrown me off the track.

I brush the dust and hurt away
    And raise my weary head
    I might be scantly breathing
But today I am not dead.

I will go on and stronger yet
I will not lose this fight.
I will go on and stronger yet,
    My strenth, the mornings' light.

Inspiring, sounds as though you are flowering into the blossom of your beauty, the ab ovoso of a new life where it is your turn to embrace your own song, sung with your own voice. I liked this.
