    Just wait

As the clock strikes, I sit here waiting.
Waiting for that faithful day you return to me.
    When will this day arise.
    Only time knows the answer.
I can picture your sparkling face as I close my eyes.
In my mind we are running hand in hand.
Running through a field of roses.
As I open my eyes, I get more anxious to see you.
    The rain begins to fall.
    I still stand tall.
    Awaiting for your warm embrace.
Hours and even days pass by.
I still wait, wait for you to come.
Not moving from where I stand.
Even if my heart cracks with each day you don't return.
    But I will not leave.
I will continue to be strong.
    Standing here just waiting,
Waiting for you to come back to me.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
