Kill Them All

Poem Commentary

a rather short poem I wrote for my Writing For Publication class. The assignment was supposed to be an autobiographical poem, but it didn't have to be about you. So, being me, I chose to be Jason Voorhees :)

Kill Them All

Mama, why do they laugh?

My face is different than theirs, twisted and mangled

You say I’m special, kill them mommy…

Make them pay, mommy.

Make them feel all of our pain

They drowned me, mommy, they killed you too

Those heartless monsters must pay, mama.

I go on for you, and only you.

I’ll kill them, mommy

Everyone that disgraced us, and caused us pain

That called you the Devil’s mother…

My blade will make their screams

Cut through the silence of the night

The flame may have been dampened in you, but not in me.

I love you, I live for you.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
