    Lady Lust

    Yes this lady is jaded
    But my mind is faded
    Emotion is overrated.
She took my heart and played it.
    Whispers turn to moans
    Sighs into groans
    Together but still alone
    Transparent and yet unknown
    Secret rendezvous in the park
    Memories lost in the dark
Raging infernos reduced to a spark
    Cupids arrow missed its' mark
Still I rise to her beckoned call
Knowing that I am destined to fall
I thought she'd come around after all
But her greatest joy is to see men crawl.
Yes her time is well spent
    To prove all men impotent
    Her promises are heaven sent.
But what she delivers is hell bent.
    She soothes and she strokes
    She pricks and she pokes
    She gives and then revokes
All to bind you with her yoke
    She's relentless in her pursuit
    And masterfully astute.
    Poison oozes at her root
To her, all other interest are mute.
She sought to make an end of me.
    But I resisted defiantly
And though she haunts me menacingly
I'll not give up my victory
    Yes this lady is jaded
    Once my mind was faded
    Emotions can be overrated.
But thanks be to God, I made it.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
