“Odds and ends of broken dreams, broken unions”

“Odds and ends of broken dreams,
broken unions”
–  Jane Aharoni Borman
It’s the divorce court, the very room... the odds and ends were
hanging from the walls, lingering in the air, moving through us.
It wasn’t just the people in the room that day that haunted me,
it was the million ghosts… their voices, tears, broken dreams.
I revisit that room in my mind and the sadness remains clear.
Divorce is so commonplace now, like buying a new dress.
People walk through it quickly, not lingering, not seeing the part
of themselves they left behind… unclaimed, broken unions.

Very poignant and so true. I can relate. Good read! ~Sandy
