    Let It Rain

You are like a lightning bolt, that burns inside me still
Building on my strong side, and strengthening my will

One small charge from your fingertips, and you light up the night sky
Leaving me just paralyzed, and on the road to die

The cracks of thunder warn, of what is soon to come
The power charging through me, is leaving my brain numb

I smile at the thought of rain, its the blanket of our love
It needs to be there for you, to light up the sky above

Storms become my power source, just surging through my brain
Electricity tickles softly, as it dances through my vein

We dance with all the clouds, and let them lead the way
To our next adventure, that people call a rainy day

No one fully understands, just what you do to me
As the hair upon my neck stands up, your love...it sets me free

So remember when your all alone, that i am always here
Holding on to what I love, and what I hold most dear

One could never harness, the power you posess
Charging up my soul, it is my heart that you caress

So bring on those storms, and let the rain pour
Cause you've got me locked up, clear down to the core

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
