    Let me be

let me be the one who will take you away from here
let me be the one to wipe away your tears
let me be the one hold and comfort you
let me be the one whose love is true
let me be the one who is on your mind
let me be the one whom to you is one of a kind
let me be the one to whom you belong
let me be the one you think of when you listen to your song
let me be the one who one day who you shall be wed
let me be the one who you want in your bed
let me be the one who you will ride with to the end
let me be the one who your new life shall begin
let me be the one who meets all of your needs
let me be the one who hold all of the keys
let me be the one in your mind and soul
let me be the one warms you when you are cold
let me be your man who you will love and cherish
let me be your man who you will until you parish

It's not often that those words are spoken from a man. I guess you can say in this day in age it's a modernized old-fashion way of telling a women you want to be her all. Very poetic, nice job.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
