Life Lessens

One lesson--
Already you're a pro.
Expression
Through riddle, rhythm, rhyme
Won't lessen
The pain it takes to grow.
Depression
Can sometimes make you climb.

A part of
Our lives in this bastille,
Oppression
Is sad reality.
The art of
Expressing how you feel . . .
Confession
Is offered guiltily:

I'm sorry,
For both of us. You see,
Discretion
Is not an easy task.
Sob story
Has been my legacy.
Obsession--
A burning powder flask.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
