    Life

    Life is an illusion
    Reality a test
    You change what you can
    Forget about the rest
    We're given opportunities
    A handful of chances
    No time to stand still
    Or appreciate second glances
    We're destroyed by greed
    Don't care what the costs
    We take all we can
    Our souls become lost
    We torment and conquer
    Causing lingering pain
    Using others to our advantage
    Till there's nothing to gain
    We claim lifes not fair
But thats the name of the game
We play the hands we're given
And live our lives in shame

Good writing and great message! I especially felt the last two lines. Thank you!

I like this one a lot. You have a unique ability to ryhme and philosafize at the same time.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
