Little 1s

LITTLE 1s

If Id only had 1,

1, moment in time gotten back,

1, harsh cruel joke retracted-

1, appreciative smile,

1, considerate gesture,

1, cruel comment rescinded-

Life is full of little 1s,

Too many of them are not good,

Some of us bear too many,

As a result, we lose not only dignity,

But a Life that will never be,

Lots of little 1s changed everything-

Instead of getting to date in school,

I received fear, and ridicule-

Instead of a chance of a college degree,

I only got a hard road of work for me-

If only some of these little 1s,

Could be changed, I would have won-

But not to be, it wont happen ever,

My life is at its end,

Too late to matter.
