Longing To Play On The Swings

Longing To Play On The Swings

I begin feeling the ages beyond my time

Gaining heartbreak weight of love and

Life’s endless situations, on-going battles,

Feels like I’m drowning, but somehow staying afloat

With my eyes closed

I wish for stillness of the precious times

When all was sweet and golden

How I long to play on the swings

When moments in time was bliss

Allowing the lyrics in music to pray for me

When the Hallelujah’s seemed to far to reach

And the effort to fathom anything beautiful was hopeless

Longing to play on the swings

When moments in time was bliss

Conquered by fear

With tears flowing down my face

I clenched my hands to my heart

I was lost… dispirited

I saw the sun and it sparked a thought of You within me

I was embraced in its warmth and was instantly protected

The assurance of faith

Overwhelmed me

Wholeheartedly

Longing to play…

I sat once again…

On the swings.
