    looking mysteriously

    looking backward,
    i venture forward.
    listening to dead sounds,
    i hear today.
    seeing past nothingness,
    i view tomorrow.
    endless hope, blind faith,
now renewed for the new. (now)
will it, could it be forever?
will it only just fade away.
    tomorrow will be today
    today will be yesterday
    what an odd thought.
    tomorrow never comes,
    yester is forever gone,
    what then is today really?
mysteries of the thoughts i think
    mysteries or are they not?
    delusions, seclusions,
    which is needed for santity?
    what is required for reasoning?
    only the unknown knows,
what a perplexity that not just i,
all live in the everyday that is each only dies.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
