    Lost Children

No one knows how or why a child is lost before it’s born.
Was it something I did or was it just meant to be.
Maybe it wasn’t time or maybe it was God’s way of telling me that something was wrong with the child.
I really don’t know and can’t really say, but I know the child was lost anyway.
For days you cry asking why?
Then you go numb and hate any woman that is expecting one.
Why are they so lucky? It makes me sick. Was it a joke or just a sick trick.
I sit down and figure out it’s day of birth. A day of sadness and hurt.
The months that is left is only seven. A child to be raised by God in heaven.
I should be happy to know this child will never know pain or hurt or even a common cold, and in God’s hands for ever have a pure soul.
But still no matter with the loss of my child breaks my heart. Three, four, five lost forever. I still find my two that are with me today my hope, my dreams and my shelter in every way.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
