Love...This is a blog not a POEM!
LOVE.....1 Corinthians 13
What if I could speak the languages of humans and of angels? IF I did not love others, I would be nothing more than a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. What if I could prophesy and understand all secrets and all knowledge? And what if I had faith that moved mountains? I would be nothing unless I loved others. What if I gave away all that I owned and let myself be burned alive? I would gain nothing unless I loved others.
Love is kind and patient, never jealous, boastful, proud, or rude. Love isnt selfish or quick tempered. It doesnt keep a record of wrongs that others do. Love rejoices in the truth, but not in evil. Love is always supportive, loyal, hopeful, and trusting. Love Never Fails!!
Everyone who prophesies will stop, and unknown languages will no longer be spoken. All that we know will be forgotten. We dont know everything, our prophecies are not complete. But what is perfect will someday appear, and what is not perfect will then disappear. When we were children, we thought and reasoned, as children do. but when we grew up, we quit our childish ways. Now all we can see of God is like a cloudy picture in a mirror. Later we will see him face to face. We dont know everything, but then we will, just as God completely understands us. For now there are faith, hope, and love. But of these three, the greatest is LOVE.
Im sure most of us have heard or read this but when we love someone do we follow this word for word, or do we put our own feelings and emotions in to it and lose sight of what God really meant love to be for everyone???
Just because God gave us this gift does not give us the right to use it in a way that dishonors God. Our love should not be exclusive to our family and friends but should reach to everyone. We should have love for the homeless, homosexuals, the women with children and no husbands, single dads, the guy/girl at work that drives us crazy, and just in general the sinners of this WORLD.. who are in need of a SAVIOR. I have a certain friend that makes me want to pull my hair out but I quickly remember that Jesus died for them and loves them just the same. What right do I have to judge a GENERATION that does not belong to ME... As Christians we need to be brave, strong, firm, and to always show love. By loving our enemies we show a lost world what God is really like. Here is a question I have not only for myself but for everyone... How can we say we love someone when our relationship with Christ is not right?? Do we not have to give him our all before we can truly love like HIM!!!
