MATRIMOURNING

Purples, reds, and blues,

Different shades, brilliant hues.

Purple so deep, red like sun-fire,

A blue so magnificent – a bright sky’s desire.

Caressing as silk, refreshing as the mist,

Do you remember your first kiss?

Ecstacy, mind-blowing, wishing for more first times,

But this is not about the kind of kiss when your lips press against mine.

A plea of romance, pure passion, which never ever dies,

The Will granted with the last breath, then with closed eyes.

His kiss of royalty, kiss of life,

Kiss of victory from that night.

Kiss of comfort, kiss to restore,

So you would know no such agony as was possible before.

No purples, no reds, no blues?

Just blacks and grays are all you’re use to?

Oh, hesitation had you more,

You said that you weren’t sure?

Well, is your heart ready now?

With out-stretched hands on bended knee, He’s declared a sacred vow.

When you accept His Proposal, just use what you’ve been given,

Don’t leave Him standing wondering if you’ll even be at your own wedding…
