    Mommy - To - Be

I never dreamed this could ever be,
The day at last, where I would be a mommy to be.
    I dreamed of it indeed,
But once told it would never be,
my heart was torn to shreds,
    left unknowing what would be.
    Two years later,
married to the man of my dreams,
    the doctor tells me,
in nine months you'll be a mommy indeed.
I never thought it could be,
a dream such as this, coming true for me.

i believe it is the warmth of your words that make this poetry so special and very moving to me. again, excellent poem and hopefully you are going to post more of this very sincere work. sincerely.mark

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
