    Motherhood Test

    In just a short time
    You will arrive.
    I, unknowing
    Both scared and phyched
Not sure of what to expect,
    But hoping for the best.

    I promise you
    I'll do my best
    But, if I fail
Understand, Motherhood is one hard test.
    And, remember
    When you're older
Just like I, as well as the rest,
You too may face the Motherhood Test.

    As of now,
    I make this vow,
To do my best, and be better than the rest
    at this Test,
    That they call,
    The Motherhood Test.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
