    My Confession

I was once asked do I believe in God.
With such a simple question, my answer was complex.
Although I know of his existence, I often question his tactics.
    I won’t say that I disagree with him, I just don’t understand,
I desperately pray for answers to comprehend his divine plan.
Though I’m not living life by his word I do know wrong from right,
but with temptations everywhere I feel I’m losing this fight.
I think my soul is pure but I’ve let life influence me,
the world has blinded me so that his word is hard to see.
I was so afraid, that needing proof was my excuse,
in reality I know I was just afraid of the truth.
In the eyes of God my current life style would be absurd,
I think it’s about time I allow his word’s to be heard.
His aura couldn’t be felt because my mind was so dense,
I just pray that he shows amnesty for my ignorance.
I feel as though I’m ready to be saved, for my new life to begin,
it’s been years since my last confession, Forgive me father for I have sinned.

Your poem is well written. You've expressed what so many feel in their hearts.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
