My Mockingbird 4.10.10

Mockingbird flying by
Reminds me of you, then I cry
How you were there through thick and thin
Bought a house for my family to live in
Went to lots of my band concerts
Held me when I said something hurts
Made my family the happiest man people I know
Even came over in the heavy winter snow.
Told me to do my homework so I could strive.
Made my grandmother the happiest women alive
Showed me how to live life right
Helped make that possible so that I might
Because of you our family was like peas in a pod
And so I dedicate this to you Grandpa Claude

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
