    My Prayer

She is the reason I work. She is the reason to play.
Everything she does is a reminder of the miracle for which I pray.
For her I want the most and the best; every comfort life can afford.
But for God to watch and protect her through life, I can ask nothing more.
I worry when she pouts and demands that things roll easily her way
She doesn’t know the uphill battle to come and the price her actions will pay.
I try to be a good mother and teacher. God show me and use me as such.
Show her love but be strong when she needs me. Let her know our love and how much.
She is ours to protect. I need you oh Lord, to guide me in all that I do.
I love my daughter with all that I am, and I give her life to you.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
