My Son

My Son

Like fireflies fluttering in the twilight,
On shores of abstract thoughts,
So was your existence, Bathed in amber lights.
A heart of sweet serenity,
muffled by the quick airbrush stroke of nirvana.
In a utopian world you would have thrived,
A symbol of all life's goodness.
On a pedestal of affection eternal you sit...
Our reason to smile with tears of joy,
Because we were blessed with the privilege to hold you...
To know the love that created you,
To feel the way you stretched like a cat napping in sunlight.
Now my arms are empty, my heart, filled with you
Forever I'll dream of you with a necromantic melancholy
Alive with hope because you are safe
forging on knowing you are here with me as you always have been
And as you always will be.

So sad. This poem realy got to me. Well written, heart felt, and touching.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
