Never say Never

Never say Never

He noticed you from a distance,
and he gave you the time of day.
He sees you for you,
and you see right through him.
He never thought he was made of glass.

You ask for help, and he's right there for you
You need direction, and he leads the way.
He's willing to talk, and willing to compromise
and you keep bending him until he breaks
He never thought he was made of plastic.

He takes you by the hand, and looks you in the eyes,
and you will know that he's telling the truth.
You see that he's nice, and you see he is kind.
So you decide to have some fun and mess with his mind.
He never thought that he couldn't get his head around you.

Times have changed, but he stays the same,
He promised that to you, and he kept to his word,
even though his world seems to be falling apart.
Somehow, years of scars and pain,
hasn't budged him from caring about you
He never thought one person could make him feel this way.

You all have run into him, and you hardly gave him a chance,
you always thought something was hidden deep inside.
I guess its hard to take someone at face value nowadays,
when you are so used to dealing with liars and thieves.
In a world where differences are embraced, he's left behind.
He never thought he would be on the outside looking in.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
