    Rise Up

I look at the surroundings that confine me,
and wonder why I let my morals bind me.
If I wanted to be how everyone else wants me to be,
then I'd have to blind myself to see.

Judged on your looks, and not on your convictions,
so many people are guilty, it's like an addiction.
People so obsessed that others know about the "me",
watch as they pour out their lives on a computer screen.

Caught up in celebrities' lives, and stupid reality shows,
the minority reaps what the majority sows.
Where is the common sense, the piece of mind,
it's all been wasted away, the tragedy of our time.

Being on the outside never felt so good,
for the people who feel misunderstood.
We may get looked down on, but we're still on top
showing you how its done, and we're never gonna stop.

In a dumbed down society, its time to be risen up,
take back whats been lost, its put-up or shutup.
Together we can start the social re-invention,
because nobody should ever have to beg for attention.

The more people speak, the higher we climb,
demand to be heard, you know its not a crime.
Put aside the fear and put your conscience to bed,
because the dumbest things are the words never said.
