    night raid

Life was free before this war and so much happiness surrounded me.
Music was being played, parties at every other street.
I was happy with the way my life was, I thought that nobody and nothing would be able to take it away.
I woke one day having a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach.
I went through the day like normal.
I layed awake in bed drifting to sleep.
    I'm startled by a crash.
    The door.
The door has been kicked in.
my father and mother rushed to the front of the house.
    Soldiers come in, guns loaded.
draging us all out to the street.
I look up to see all the stars shine.
My tears shine in the sparkaling moon and we are silenced in the cover of night.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
