    Of Darkness

I became alive in this world of dreams.

    This world of dreams.

    That spoke of light.

    Perceived by my heart.

Beating out the moments of my life.

Then what made the hand of your darkness fall upon my life?

    So immediately.

    So fully.

    So soundly and complete.

At the start of it all when I sought light.

    You blinded my eyes.

When I sought to touch another.

    You tied my hands.

    When I sought solace.

    You gave me pain.

I did not know my love for you.

    Could bring so much darkness.

As if I were buried alive.

By the disappointments of the world.

Why did you struggle to close my heart?

    As I sought your light?

Was it that you had none, or just none for me?

Did the light once so bright blind your heart somehow?

Or did it blind your eyes like mine were?
